Speak the Fire is our long awaited debut album. We invite you to partake in an album of poems and songs created by 3 women’s voices and one guitar. This album contains ingredients of the personal and political, unveils our rawness and vulnerability, and highlights the feminine and revolutionary in all of us. Encapsulated are words of courage, strength and the State of the Nation; harmonies twisted with passion, fight and power; melodies tied with our flesh and bone, dug up from the earth and will continuously be in your ears on the street. Our songs and poems are a mix of folk, rock and rhymes in English, Spanish, and Tongan simmered with indigenous roots and culture. You know it’s a new world when a Trinity is formed and comes together to make music, poetry and art. Who would have thought the 3 of us would meet:
1) Gabby—a singer/songwriter, African American Irish chick who taught herself how to play guitar at age12; raised in Hollis, Queens and can’t get enough of James Taylor, Malcolm X, Carol King, metaphysics and Motown;
2) Erica—a Ruca homegirl, born and raised in San Anto, Tejas, who belts boleros and R&B and who is also a classically trained dancer who writes from Southern heart and Uptown flavor; 3) Moana—a painter, Country/Bluegrass/new capoierista, Mountain Ta’ahine, born in Tonga, raised in Provo, Utah and spits prayers and poems from her palms; she holds a special place in her heart for the South Bronx and South Africa. Our joining represents that anything is possible. Peace is possible. Justice is possible. Freedom for all is possible. Not only is another world possible, it exists. It exists here and is available. The Spirit let us give this to you thus far. It’s the Fire this time. We love you. This is for you. You may proceed… Learn more... Click Here for Full Press Release |
